Mohd Effendy Rajab (Dr)

Dr Effendy was the Director of Adult Resources with the World Scout Bureau, based in Geneva for 3.5 years (2002-2005). He served as the Executive Director of the Singapore Scout Association (SSA) for two years before taking up the job in Geneva. He was the National Training Commissioner from 1991 to 2001 where he oversaw the training and development of all leaders in the SSA. He also served as external management and training consultant to the National Scout Organisations mainly in the Asia Pacific Region.
He has over 20 years of experience in fire fighting and security related work in the petrochemical industry. He had conducted customised training courses for managers and executives on emergency crisis management and fire fighting and security courses for petrochemical complex employees and contractors. He oversaw the designing of fire-fighting facilities and the integrated computerised card access and surveillance system project of the petrochemical complex in the early nineties.
Caleb Cheah
Director of Corporate Affairs
As Director of Corporate Affairs, Caleb Cheah is tasked with the key areas of responsibility as follows:-
1) Handling corporate communications/PR matters
2) Supporting the work of the fund-raising committee
3) Overseeing the management of facilities & assets of SSA
4) Serving as Event Manager to co-ordinate national events & projects
5) Undertaking joint projects with relevant governmental agencies & corporations.
Having served Singapore Police Force (SPF) with dedication for about 28 years in various key postings, he went on to take up security-related management positions in both real estate and hospitality industry. While in SPF, he had received considerable exposure in corporate communications and PR matters. He was a Police spokesperson before being handpicked to head the PR & Information Dept in a Ministry. Before joining SSA on 1 July 2006, he was heading the security department in a five-star hotel.
Married with three grown up sons, he enjoys reading and is conscientious in exercising regularly and eats moderately.

Jennifer Lim
Manager (HR & Accounts)
Her interest in accounting and being a part of people development has prompted Jennifer to continue her career in with a organization like the Scouts after spending substantial time in business in the past .
Working in HQ for the past eight years or so, she has come to understand how it is like to work in a mission driven organization.
She learnt prudent in the organization’s daily expenditure and spend every cent wisely knowing that the funds raised by our volunteers is precious.
Being able to work in line with her interest allow her to achieve job satisfaction and challenge she seeks.
Madelene Seow
Senior Executive (Programme & Events)
Madelene took up the appointment of Senior Executive (Programme & Events) effective from 15 October 2010.
She coordinates and organises national programmes & events efficiently. She liaises and attends meetings with the various Government Agencies to give feedback on youth programmes and co-ordination of youth participation in national campaign courses and youth related activities/events such as National Day Parade, Singapore Youth Festival, Singapore 2010 Youth Olympics Games, National Camp, Remembrance Day Ceremony, National Heritage Trail, Total Defence, National Resilience and etc.
She gives advice on youth programme policy, procedures, finance matters, admin and logistics support to the National Programme Council and the various Sections & Heads for the Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venture Scouts, Rover Scouts, Extension Scouts, Scouts of the World, the World Scout Environment, National Youth Achievement Award, Frank Cooper Sands Award and etc.
Madelene first contact with Scouting came as a Brownie in her Primary School days. She was in the National Police Cadet Corps in her Secondary School days. In 1987, she joined the Singapore Scout Movement and later was invested as a Rover Scout in Todak Rover Crew from 1988-1990.
A trained HR Professional, she has held appointments in the Singapore Scout Association and served diligently as an Assistant District Commissioner (Tampines) in 1999, District Commissioner (Katong) from 2000-2005, National Cub Scout Commissioner from 2002-2008 and Cadet Leader Trainer from 1998 – 2007 and as well as a professional Guider in the Girl Guides Singapore.
Married to an experienced Scouter and blessed with two beautiful daughters. Madelene enjoyed travelling, camping outdoors, music, reading, cooking and sampling new foods in her spare time with family and friends.
She is a huge fan of Korean and Taiwanese Dramas and enjoys listening to the latest Pop music.
Anthony Ng
Senior Executive (AR & Training)
Anthony Ng took up the full-time appointment of Senior Executive (Adult Resources & Training) with effect from 03 April 2012. He coordinates and updates the logistics requirements of the National Training Team in order to effectively run courses and organize activities/events. He liaises with the Scout Guild and provides staff support in their activities. He also provides staff support in Adult Resources and Adult in Scouting.
Anthony had previously served in various capacities in the Association. As a VAL, he had served as a trainer in the Training Team (1991 – 1995, 1999 – 2003, 2010-present); Asst. District Commissioner (1994 – 1996); Chief Examiner of SRIC (1998 – 2000); Camp Chief of National Patrol Camp 2001; and National Programme Resource Commissioner (2011 – 2012). At the ground level, he has led or assisted in leading units from the Cub Scout, scout and venture scout sections. In the course of his volunteer works, he has gained much valuable experience which will put him in good stead in the full-time job.
His pastimes and hobbies include video games and reading on an ever expanding list of subjects including leadership, philosophy, natural history, game theory, quantum physics and Chinese history. Food is also one of the important items among the subjects.
Halimah
Executive (Admin & Fundraising)
Besides being a career woman in the 1970’s, she has also been active in the performing arts and community work. She has served with dedication as a volunteer with the Management Committee of Cheng San Community Club with the then Minister Lee Yock Suan for many years until the late 1990’s.
From 2000 to 2003, she was the Head Teacher for a PCF Kindergarten in Sengkang.
Her involvement in the performing arts has provided her with many opportunities to represent Singapore in performances in London and Malaysia. She has also led a few events for the National Arts Council (NAC) for local and overseas theatre groups during the Singapore Arts Festival. To date, she is still a part-time artiste with the local station Mediacorp for TV and Radio programmes.
To her, joining SSA is a continuation of her passion for community work. She shared with pride that scouting has made her son a better man. Her son was a Chief Scout Commendation Award recipient in 2006. Her career experiences in the corporate world and her active involvement in community work with non-profit organizations will put her in good stead in TSSA. She is enthused in contributing to the SSA’s two key themes namely Scouting builds Community and Scouting builds Family.
Aman Haji Ahmad
Executive (Facilities)
Mr Aman Haji Ahmad was a volunteer in Jintai Rusa Scout Group before joining HQ SSA in 1999 as Training Executive.
He was later transferred to manage the Sarimbun Scout Camp as Camp Warden in 2001 and again transferred back to HQ as Facilities Executive when Sarimbun Camp was outsourced.
He left HQ SSA for awhile before joining back again with a same position.
He is an Assistant Leader Trainer in SSA National Training Team since 2000 and conducts sessions for STT Adult Training Courses. He has accumulated 40 years of scouting as volunteers and staff.

Adrian Chua
Executive Assistant (Operations)
As a Boy Scout since ten years old, Adrian’s passion and love for Scouting remain ferment. Represented Singapore twice in Jamboree Camps, he had also completed the National Venture Leadership Course. He contributed significantly to the East Area Patrol Leader Training Camp in the year 2002. He was elevated to the appointment of an Assistant Leader in 2002. He still goes back to his secondary school to help out as and when needed.
Adrian joined the SSA on 1 April, 2007 as a Scout Shop Assistant. He enjoys his work so far. Being customer-oriented, he will always try to provide a delightful service to all customers. He derives satisfaction in seeing them leaving the scout shop with blissful expression for having received services beyond their expectations.
A cheerful Adrian is still looking around for his Miss Right to complete his rite of passage.

Marisa joined the headquarters family in March 2012. Since then she has made many new friends and thoroughly enjoys her work in the Scout Shop.
Always greeting the customers with her warm smile, she provides a friendly personality to the Scout Shop.

Executive Assistant (Accounts)
Yee Leng joined the headquarters family in May 2009. Since then, she has met many new friends through scouting events. She is in charge of the scout group account, made up of both schools and open units.
Having just graduated and being relatively new to scouting, working with scouts leaders and youths from various schools and sectors has provided her the opportunity to know more about scouting.
Maohaid Faizal Kasmin
Senior Executive (International Relations & IT)
Maohaid Faizal joined SSA as an Operations Assistant in October 2006. He was promoted and reassigned to the International Relations & IT Department as an executive in July 2007. He currently holds the position of Senior Executive with International Relations & IT department.
Prior to joining the association as a Professional Scouter, Maohaid Faizal first joined the movement as a Cub Scout back in 1990. His journey as a scout continued through his secondary school days and extended through until he finished tertiary education.
In 2005, Faizal was conferred the prestigious Woodbadge, followed by The Chief’s Scout Commendations in 2006, The Baden Powell Award in 2007 and the Long Service Award (10 Years) in 2008. In 2011, He was confered the Second Class Boy Scout Citation Medal from the National Scout Organisation of Thailand(NSOT) and the Distinguished Service Award (Bronze) From The Singapore Scout Association for his Contribution as the Rover Scout Leader to his Scout Group.. Today, he continues to serve with the Serangoon Eagles Scout Group.
Maohaid Faizal graduated from the University of Southern Queensland, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He’s also attended and participated in numerous leadership programs, an Assistant Leader Trainer Course in 2006, Leader Trainer Course in 2008 and the 48th APR Basic Management Course held in Bangladesh in 2010.
Apart from his passion in Scouting, Faizal spends his free time maintaining his car. He also cycles and does archery during his free time.
