Unit Leader Training Wood Badge Course (ULTWBC)
Course Synopsis
This is the core course for all leaders. This course facilitates the learning of adult leaders in acquiring the knowledge and skills in Unit Leadership, Scout Method and Scout Craft. Since, this is a process‐based course, leaders will be immersed with facilitation on the ‘how’ of Scouting with some basic content‐based Scouting knowledge and skills. The course will be covered over a period of 3 months that include both modular and residential components. Leaders will be facilitated through a series of session modules that covers the domains of leadership, scout method and components of scout craft. In addition, leaders will be facilitated with a rich experiential learning environment at the residential camp. Details of the course will be sent to schools prior to course commencement and will also be made available at our website.
Wood Badge Assessment
This is an evaluation process to allow leaders ample time to practice the knowledge and skills acquired during the courses in their respective scout units. This assessment is self‐directed and developmental in nature and leaders are required to reflect on the 6 assigned activities. This is a core component of the training scheme.
