A unique scouting programme reaching out to seniors and retirees in the community, the SIS programme has grown from strength to strength. To date, some 215 seniors had completed the Induction Courses conducted by SSA. Funded by MCYS under the “Golden Opportunities” Project since December 2006, the funds are currently administered by Council for Third Age (C3A). The objectives of the SIS programme are to:
- Develop seniors as valued resources for community scouting
- Promote life-long learning & active ageing
- Promote intergenerational bonding & family togetherness with younger generation
