The course is opened to Unit Leaders and Rovers who have completed the Unit Leader Training Induction Course.
New Leaders and Rovers who have signed up for Unit Leader Training Induction Course 2012 ( 1st and 2nd Intake) may also apply for the course.

Appended below are some pointers regarding the submission:-

The deadline for all Sections (Cub Scout, Scout, Venture Scout and Rover Scout) is Wednesday, 30 November 2011, 6.00 pm..

All forms must be duly completed and endorsed with the signatories of the Sponsoring Authorities and District Commissioners.

Submission of the Scout Attendance Records, Weekly Meeting Reports and Activity Reports are required (Please refer to our website at http://www.scout.sg/resource/forms/ for sample).

The results of the Award will be made available to the Units through the respective Area Commissioners by the end of January 2012, and by way of notification through the Association’s website and by email.

Any appeal must be made to the respective Area Commissioners within 14 days of the notification of results.

Subject: Messengers of Peace – countdown to launch has begun

Dear Friend,

You will have welcomed back into your country inspired and excited Scouts from the contingent that your National Scout Organization sent to the 22nd World Scout Jamboree which took place in Sweden recently.

Without doubt, this is due to the exceptional nature of this adventure for the young people participating in this “once in a lifetime” experience of international Scouting.

There is certainly another reason for their excitement! During their stay in Sweden, 40,000 Scouts – boys and girls, men and women – were exposed to pre-launch information and activities related to the “Messengers of Peace” initiative which was announced to the Movement during the World Scout Conference which took place in January this year in Brazil.

Amongst these activities was the opportunity for young people and leaders to declare themselves as “Messengers of Peace” and to pre-register the project which they propose to undertake locally within the framework of this exciting initiative.

This was also the opportunity for the World Scout Committee and the World Scout Bureau to verify that the proposals being made coincide with the interests and respond to the various questions that Scouts are asking themselves around the notion of Peace in today’s society. In the light of the feedback received, further work has been undertaken to refine and adjust the approach.

My purpose in writing to you today is to share with you the exciting news that we have started the final countdown to the official launch of “Messengers of Peace” which will take place on 28 September 2011 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Their Majesties King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, King of Saudi Arabia, and King Carl XVI Gustav, King of Sweden. Without the committed support of Their Majesties, this initiative would not have been possible.

Working closely with our partners, we are making arrangements to ensure that as many Scouts as possible will be able to follow the launch online, via a live web-stream from Saudi Arabia. More information about these launch arrangements will be emailed to the widest possible Scout audience and published on our website in the coming days.
